Borneo Dayak Heavily Carved Blowgun Dart Belt Hook
This beautifully carved 19" long belt hook used to be bound to a blowgun dart container with woven rattan bands and a thin strip of rattan that was tied to the piercing at the bottom end of the back "leg" of the forked piece. The hook is deep chocolate brown hardwood and has a rich glossy patina. The top section features multiple Naga heads amongst the upraised curled patterns as well.
Recently picked up from an old Los Angeles Asian and Tribal Art collection.
