Philippine Ifugao Falfeg Spear with Metal Collar
This late 19th - early 20th Century Ifugao Falfeg type spear came from an old Southern California collection and has an overall length of 56 1/2". These spears were commonly use in the Northern Luzon region by the Bontoc , Kalinga , and other indigenous tribes. The harpoon type spear head has a beveled edge and is sharp. There is light surface wear to the spearpoint and collar. A hole is drilled through the spear just below the metal collar. There is some light discoloration on the shaft under the metal collar or hasp.
