Solomon Islands Malaita Alafolo club Ex William Jamieson Collection Ex Niagara Falls Museum Collection
This Solomon Island Alafolo club is a very unique example. This 42 1/2" long club does not have the typical descending nose shape down either side of the club's head, and instead has a thin arc of branches or vines just below the head's repeated bands of zigzag decoration. The bottom of this club is very dry and worn. Formerly in the collection of Canadian Ethnographic Dealer/Collector Bill Jamieson. His Niagara Falls Museum inventory label is still attached to the lower section of the club above the squared flange at the section that flares outward.
