Philippine Bone & Brass Handled Knife Early 20th Century
This Philippine knife with brass and carved octagonal bone handle shows Spanish influenced design and measures 13 7/8" in overall length. The thick, sharp blade is 9 1/8" of the the total length is in original uncleaned condition but does have a tiny slight bend at the very tip. The original leather scabbard has some light wear to the pink felt star or flattened pompom on the repeated stacked leather floret type discs.
This knife was recently acquired in a large Southern California collection of Philippine material that had been stored by a family since 1936 when it was all sent to a girlfriend by a soldier while he was stationed there between 1934 and 1936.
