Philippine Moro Barong 1937 Lieutenant General Lloyd Fredendall 1937 Presentation Piece
This Philippine Moro Barong is an early 20th Century piece that was given in 1937 by Lt General Lloyd Fredendall to someone with the initials JFF (see the inscriptions on the brown paper wrapper). As to who JFF was I'm afraid that I can't be of any help but the Moro blade looks great. The ferrule is brass and the blade is sharp. The back of the blade is just under 1/4" at the handle and the overall length of the sword is 25 1/4" from the blade's tip to the uppermost tip of the pommel. Aside from a few minor scratches on the blade there is also a small black pit on one side of the blade.
