New Guinea Kundu Drum with Face Design
This old Papua New Guinea Drum has a head carved into the base of it's handle, as well as wraparound incised patterns in a band around the center. The drum stands 19 3/4" tall, and still has an intact monitor drum head and cloth ring. The drumhead has a few tiny pinholes, and still retains some of the beeswax (used in changing the depth of sound) on top. From an old Los Angeles estate.
