Easter Island Rapa Nui Rongorongo Mama Script 2 Sided Wooden Tablet
This carved Easter Island 2 sided Rongorongo tablet displays what appears to be the Mama type script, which was used in the 1920s - 1930s. Both sides of this heavy 3 5/8" tall x 15" long (straight across, not following the curves)dark wooden piece are covered with the script. The curved tablet has a small knot hole about 3" from the edge (see 3rd pic).
The collection that this piece came from belonged to a man that was in the Pacific during the 1930s-40s.
