Figural Coconut Scraper from the Lesser Sundas Ex - Armand Labbe
This large figural Coconut scraper originates from the Lesser Sundas, most likely Timor, and measures 29" in length. The form is well executed with attention to detail on the ribs and face, as well as the phallus. The scraper has some thin cracks from wood shrinkage, but these are stable, and holding fine. A unique, and very strong figural piece from the Indonesian Archipelago.
Formerly in the collection of Armand Labbe, of the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California.
